Astraios Assyrtiko 2024

The vintage

The year 2024 is characterized by a very high-quality harvest. The quantity was noticeably limited, ranging from 30% to 40% less than usual. Specifically, the winter was mild with unusually high temperatures for the season. The heaviest rainfall occurred from September through January, totaling 260 mm. Wind intensity during the growth cycle remained at normal levels and did not cause any damage.

The limited rainfall of the previous year combined with the very high temperatures at the end of June led to a reduction in the yield per vine. Consequently, the vines produced fewer grape clusters, which developed perfectly, resulting in excellent quality. The harvest was of high quality with no damage from the European grapevine moth.

For the Assyrtiko variety, the harvest began on August 22nd. The resulting musts were aromatic, full-bodied, and exhibited high acidity.

Taste description

Bright pale yellow color, with aromas of lime, grapefruit, lemon peel, fennel, and white pepper. On the palate, the sharp acidity harmoniously accompanies the alcohol, creating a light, energetic sensation combined with a lasting salty finish.
